Dryness – think a Rudolph-red nose or a scratchy throat – decreases your immunity barriers and opens the door to infection. Drinking plenty of water is crucial to staying healthy.

Our immune system is very, very good at fighting things off, but we do things to harm it. When people don’t get the sleep that they need, their body can’t restore itself. Snoozing for a minimum seven to eight hours a night can give your body the downtime it needs to fight off infection.

This is something we learn when we are very young and for all the right reasons. Washing your hands on a regular basis can help you avoid getting sick. The US Naval Health Research Center conducted a study of 40,000 recruits who were ordered to wash their hands five times a day, they found that recruits cut their incidence of respiratory illnesses by 45%. This is something to remember if you work with the public or share work spaces.
6. Change your toothbrush
You think your toothbrush gets your teeth clean–and it does. But once you’ve finished brushing, it can be a breeding ground for germs. Most dentists recommend you change your toothbrush every two to three months. It’s also a good idea to replace it after you’ve had a cold or flu to prevent reinfection.
7. Be happy
Stress is a leading cause of sickness. When you are stressed or worried, it takes a tole on your body’s ability to fight off infection. The best advice that I can give for you to carry in your everyday lives is; Let the small things go, focus on being positive, and always do what makes your heart feel happy!
