Our Kings County-based food processing client is looking for a capable Production Manager to plan and direct plant functions. This individual has overall responsibility for all areas of the facility. A high-degree of technical knowledge and strong engineering skills are required to effectively troubleshoot problems successfully.
Responsibilities
· Attain optimum utilization of machinery, materials, and labor
· Achieve optimum capacity, yields, and overall cost reduction
· Implement progressive improvements while keeping risk within reasonable limits
· Meet daily production standards and schedules
· Perform food safety inspections, monitor and assist with sanitation and QC
· Develop annual operating budget for plant expenditures
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business, or similar field
· 5-10 years progressive management and supervisory experience
· 3 years experience in food production
· Knowledge of equipment capabilities and product characteristics
· Ability to effectively manage and develop a team
