Safety Manager needed for a large food processing company in the Fresno area. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations by inspecting the environment, machinery, equipment and working conditions.
Duties:
· Develops, maintains and implements all required safety programs.
· Ensures all quality system requirements (HACCP, GMP’s) are met as well as all company corporate requirements related to quality/food safety programs.
· Maintains a good attendance record to ensure that there is no interruption to production or services to our customers.
· Ensures all safety logs are maintained and submitted as required by law.
· Identifies facilities safety compliance or non-compliance by inspecting machinery, equipment, safety guards, and working environment.
· Prepares employees by developing and conducting safety training programs; coaching employees.
· Provides risk-prevention information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing safety data and trends.
· Recommends improvement procedures by investigating accidents.
· Coordinates workers compensation benefits including administration of the incident file, post-accident follow-up and case management. Participates in bi-annual workers’ compensation claims review.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college; or five to ten years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Training in the following areas: Principles of HACCP, Industrial refrigeration, Hazmat, RMP/PSM, Environmental training, 30 hour OSHA training.
Competitive salary offered depending upon experience, $45k+.
